JANET MARTIN |
|
A native of Richmond Virginia, Janet divides her time between Europe and the United States. When not on tour Janet can usually be found writing or in the studio; her latest CD recorded in Paris France during the month of January is currently being mixed and will be released in Europe 1st quarter 2013. This marks Janet’s first 100% blues rock recording and features Texas guitar slinger Neal Black at the production reins. An October 2012 tour of France, Belgium, Germany and Holland is scheduled for the full electric band. This will be Janet’s tenth consecutive overseas tour; each successive tour brings her more and more fans and continued growth and exposure throughout the continent and Scandinavia; a pattern she plans to continue. |

Her recording schedule does not slow down in 2012. End of November finds her in the studio recording a collection of acoustic blues produced by Dan Doyle for Gene Rosenthal’s Adelphi Records; to be released by the label in the spring of 2013. Janet plans to sandwich her October European full band tour with solo/duet acoustic gigs in September and October... |

Her 2010 CD “Passage” was a huge success in Europe; receiving airplay in more than 12 different countries in Europe, England and Scandinavia. She has earned high praise from the European musical press; reviews have been

overwhelmingly positive. Janet’s “Live on Mulberry Street” was recorded at a house concert in her hometown of Richmond and is available digitally on CD Baby; and i-Tunes; this is a must collector’s item. |
Her guitar style took shape at an early age; a direct result of her early influences; from Blue Grass flat-picking to electric rock and blues. A bright new world opened up for her when she began listening to Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page’s use of open tunings; Janet’s acoustic sound today is due in large part to her love of open tunings of which she is a master. After a 2011 summer tour in France with Neal Black Mr. Black encouraged Janet to step into the spotlight and showcase her lead guitar playing as well as her acoustic and slide work. All can be found on her brand new “Say It To My Face” CD; label and exact release dates to follow soon! |
A live Janet performance should not be missed; it’s all there for the price of a ticket; hypnotic acoustic and lead guitar work, blazing slide guitar and killer vocals. Publicity and Promotion Scandinavia/Europe: Hemifran www.hemifran.com |
